A woman, her daughter and a passenger were lucky to escape serious injury after the car in which they were travelling ended up nose-first in a deep trench in Braemar, near Port Edward.
According to the driver, Thembeka Ngcobo, she went to park on the side of the road and didn’t seen the trench.
“I was on my way to Port Edward at about midday on Tuesday this week when I stopped on the side of the road and down we went into this deep hole. The vehicle nose-dived and overturned. Luckily there were people around and they helped us escape through the windows. We were lucky not to have been hurt,” she said.
Mrs Ngcobo contacted her insurance company and her vehicle was towed away. Her car was damaged at the front and on the roof. She reported the incident to the municipality and asked them fill up the ditch.
