Dagga found abandoned as police search local high school

Dagga and cigarettes were confiscated from the school.

Police have issued a stern warning to pupils using drugs, especially at schools.

A search at a high school in the Hibberdene area was conducted on Tuesday this week by police from Hibberdene Vispol, together with  Warrant Officer Johan Terreblanche from Port Shepstone K9 Unit.

Some 200 pupils were searched, using police drug dog, Camilla. “Forty-four grams of dagga was found abandoned in the school and cigarettes were also confiscated,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

She said ongoing searches will be conducted at various schools in the Ugu Cluster to curb the use of drugs among pupils.

No arrests were made.
