Two victims flee from suspected armed robbery in Umzinto

Shots were fired recently at a vehicle in which a 58-year-old man and his passenger were travelling.

“The driver saw two men on the side of the road in Hazelwood, Umzinto and suddenly shots were allegedly fired at his car,” said Port Shepstone communications officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

The driver instinctively sped off and neither he nor his passenger was harmed.

The incident is believed to have happened at 7.45pm when the complainant was on his way home.

A case of attempted robbery was then opened at by Umzinto Saps for further investigation.
