Islamic School swimmers place well


Port Shepstone Islamic School’s girls headed off to Durban for the AMS swimming gala at Kings Park last Sunday. Jenna Baxter came second in the U17 freestyle event, Nazmeera Abdullah placed third in breaststroke and open division and took second place in the freestyle relay.

The school held a knock-out tournament at the AstroTurf last Saturday. Phase winners were: Intermediate phase – Sumaya Desai, Daneen Hoosen, Jayshree Garbaran, Nabeeha Khan, Mariam Mohammed and Juveriya Bhula.

Senior phase – Hafiyya Mohammed, Maseeha Omar, Saudah Jungitoo, Sumayyah Padia, Ayesha Amejee and Amina Nokhanku.

FET phase – Nasmeera Abdullah, Naazneen Khan, Ilhaam Khamissa, Sadiyah Nakooda, Mariya Mulla and Fathima Tuz-Zahra.

Gr 4 cricketer Abdur-Rahman Shaik has been selected to represent the SKZN Cricket Union in Durban this coming weekend.
