Toyota Hilux: Conquer the earth

IT’S tough from every angle. We’re talking about the Toyota Hilux. The new Hilux is on the front line of tough. The design is striking, with bold, aggressive lines.

It puts the all-new Hilux at the forefront of modern bakkies the world over.

In terms of advanced safety and security it’s all there, with a reinforced frame, airbags and the like.

The Hilux is completed with an all-new frame: reinforced to make it more durable. It’s tougher, stronger, more rigid and has been designed specifically to take on the toughest of conditions.

The all-new Hilux is fully loaded with innovations to take on any terrain with ease.

Active traction control and the differential lock keep you secure on any surface.

Downhill assist control gets you down slopes smoothly.

Hill assist control gets you up inclines without rolling back and trailer sway control stabilises the connection between your Hilux and a trailer.

(Some of these features are available on selected models only, so visit the dealership in Shelly Beach of Port Shepstone to find out more.)

The dashboard has also been modernised: the lever on the centre console has been replaced with an electronic transfer switch.

At any given moment, simply flip the switch and you can choose between 4WD, 4WD LOW and 2WD.

Hilux Double Cab 2.7 VVTi RB SRX MT has 122kW at 5200rpm and reaches peak torque of 245Nm at 4000rpm.

It has a towing capacity (braked) of 2500kg.

But it’s not about rugged power and aggression. There’s luxury, too.

The new interior design delivers the toughness and functionality needed in a working vehicle, as well as the convenience and refinement expected in a private use vehicle.

There’s no skimping on comfort or style – advanced form meets function in a strong yet elegant combination.

Here’s a quote from Top Car as the time of the relaunch of the redesign.

“Completely re-designed from the inside out the all-new Hilux features a luxurious interior that’s more occupant-focused, wrapped in a new body, offering improved easier-to-drive, on-road performance; while remaining true to its core values of uncompromising off-road ability.” – Top Car, May 2015.
