Islamic School players take volleyball gold

PORT Shepstone Islamic School hosted the annual AMS volleyball tournament last Saturday. The event was a resounding success with a variety of schools from across KZN taking part. The open division boys brought home gold while the U17 division reached the semi-finals. The school is extremely proud of their achievements.

Gr 10 pupils Ahmed Abdulla Sayed and Yusrah Razack took part in the AMS annual speech contest and Ahmed placed third in the boys’ category.

Science boffins did the school proud by taking part in the Eskom Science Fair held last Thursday.

Talha Musa (gr 6), Faiz Sheik Amod (gr 5), Ayesha Sidiqa Asif (gr 4) and Ammar Akram Sardar (gr 8) won bronze medals for their projects.

Foundation phase pupils took part in the AMS elocution contest in Durban last Saturday. The competition was tough and entrants gained valuable exposure and learned how to conquer the fear of speaking to an audience.
