Restaurant of the Week: Gorgez View

Pearson Khumalo, from The Gorgez View, shows one of the platters, which are perfect for friends and family to enjoy together.

THE Gorgez View restaurant, nestled in the heart of the Paddock Plains, is well-named and is only 24 km from Port Shepstone.

The is menu is varied, offering choices to suit almost every palate, and the chef and his team prepare the dishes using garden-fresh ingredients.

Depending on the weather (and of course on which big match is being televised that day) you can opt to enjoy your meal in the restaurant, the coffee shop, outside on the deck or in the sports bar.

The restaurant is decorated with local art, and the waiters are friendly and attentive.

“We are known for our bunny chows, curries, burgers and wraps and, of course, our month-end buffets,” says manager Sharon Moodley.

There is a play area to keep the children entertained while their parents relax over their meals and enjoy some liquid refreshment from the well-stocked bar.

The venue is perfect for weddings and corporate functions.

The restaurant is open Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 9pm, Fridays from 2pm to 9pm and Saturdays and Sundays  from 7am to 9pm. The coffee shop is open Monday to Friday  from 7am to 5pm.
