Islamic School goes on air

WHEN radio personality Yusuf Manack made a stopover in Port Shepstone with the CII national radio crew, Port Shepstone Islamic School pupils were invited to go on air.

Prior to the recording, Yusuf explained the plight of young children in war-torn countries and a fund-raising project was initiated to bring cheer to orphans of war by buying clothing for them for the festive period of Eid.

Pupils Muhammad Amajee, Uwais Ameen, Usama Kadwa, Zainab Dhai, Wardah Madari, Umme Kulthoom Patel and Sumaya Desai performed recitals and poetry.

Barira Khan, Juwairiya Limalia and Fathima Tuz Zahra Sader took part in the Radio Islam’s panel discussion competition. After thorough research and rehearsal, they tackled the topic ‘Media mirrors who you are.’

They will compete against 14 schools nationally and the recording will be aired on Saturday, June 17, between 9 and 11am on Radio Islam. The team anxiously awaits the final results.
