Restaurant of the Week: La Capannina

Ken, Owen and Daleen Northover prepare to tuck in.

FOR the past 25 years, La Capannina Restaurant in Ramsgate has served delicious dishes rooted in Italian tradition.

Since February the restaurant has new owners, but nothing will change. “We want to keep our customers happy and will continue to offer classic Italian cuisine,” says manager, Liam Gous.

The menu offers something for every taste and includes delicious pasta, traditional pizza from a wood-fired oven and tasty meat and fish dishes. The seafood pasta in wine and tomato sauce comes highly recommended.

You can choose to dine alfresco on the terrace with its panoramic ocean view or opt for a table in the cosy indoor dining area.

The eatery is fully licensed and has an extensive wine list and well-stocked bar.

For the little ones, the new owners are planning to extend the terrace and create a play area just underneath.

Open from Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Lunch is from noon to 2pm and dinner from 6pm. Note that in season the restaurant is open every day.

Traditional cuisine, hearty portions and friendly hospitality will continue to make this eatery an all-time favourite.
