IT would be difficult to imagine a better place to holiday than the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

The coast is stunning, with gorgeous stretches of unspoilt shoreline and plenty of safe and protected swimming beaches.

It is incredibly wild-life friendly as well. Nature lovers can appreciate its plethora of delightful urban nature reserves and beautiful landscapes, ranging from walking trails, quality birding sites and larger conserved areas like the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve near Port Edward, to the scenic Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve.

The Oribi area in particular is a big draw card for adrenalin junkies. The private nature reserve offers adventure seekers a formidable zip line ride and the famed Wild Five adventures. It includes the notorious Wild Swing, which is a must for the daredevil out there.

Best of all is the South Coast weather, which is not as hot and muggy as some coastal areas. It’s hardly ever cold, and has just enough rain to keep it green.
