BEWARE: Robbers gain entry disguised as Eskom workers

POLICE are warning South Coasters to be on the alert after a brazen gang robbed a home in Norvik Road, Oslo Beach yesterday morning.

“The domestic worker was at the premises when the owner left home at around noon. When he returned some 15 minutes later,  the  traumatised domestic worker informed him that the house had just been robbed,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

According to the domestic worker, five men, all dressed in blue overalls with ‘Eskom’ printed on them, hooted outside the property and asked her to open the gate.

“They said wanted to check the meter. When she opened the gate they forced her back into the house and threatened to kill her if she screamed,” said Lt-Col Wiid.

They ransacked the house and fled with three televisions, four laptops, an iPad, various cellphones and some clothing.

The one suspect was described as having a big build and the others were of average size.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their nearest police station.
