Durban guitarist visits Ramsgate

Seb Goldswain’s fans will be pleased to know he is heading our way.

GUITAR maestro, Seb Goldswain has included a Ramsgate venue on his spring KwaZulu-Natal tour.

Music lovers can hear this talented Durban muso at Rocky Ridge on Sunday, October 1, at 1pm.

Seb’s jazzy, rock sounds are blended with a bit of acoustic finger-picking, ensuring his solo acoustic performances are always highly energetic gigs to remember. After a relatively quiet year and a walk down the aisle, he looks forward to a busy spring and heritage month, touring the province and working on material for his next solo-acoustic album. He is also working on loads of new and exciting material for his live shows.

“I had the immense God-given honour of marrying my best friend, Brittany, in May and since everyone in my life at the time was frantically consumed with the selection of bunting, matching navy-blue fabric, flower arrangements and macaroons, I figured it was probably wise not to book shows for a while. But now, I am excited to be announcing my tour, not only around select spots in KwaZulu-Natal but also to Cape Town and Johannesburg later this year,” he said.

On the back of his debut album ‘Pictures of a Thousand Words’, the rising star has taken a bold step towards establishing himself as a new breed of original voices in South Africa. Encompassing influences from across a wide range of genres and cultures, his first album is stylistically diverse, while carrying a sound throughout that is both unique to him and a distinct sound of his home province.

This Durban-based musician is also proficient in bluegrass, blues, funk, heavy rock, country and jazz styles and he encompasses all these styles, as well as a wide range of artistic influences, into his original material.

Tickets for the Rocky Ridge gig are R60. Contact 072 4736095 for more information.
