Southcity soccer teams excel

Southcity individual age group prize winners (from left) Trent Broome (U8), Jemma Robertson (U9 girls and victrix ludorum), Lindokuhle Ndwalane (U9 boys and victor ludorum), Kate-Lynne Fourie (U8), Micah Underwood (U7) and Caitlyn Ramos (U7) reaped rewards at the Junior Primary inter-house athletics last Tuesday.

SOUTHCITY hosted an U14, U16 and 1st team soccer tournament last week where 38 teams from Southcity, Curro HCA, Reddam Umhlanga, Toti, Kingsway, Scottburgh and Sheppie High took part.

(19 girls’ teams at Douglas Mitchell and 19 boys’ teams at Southcity) A total of 84 games were played and Southcity teams made the finals against PSHS.

Both matches ended in a penalty shootout – the 1st girls’ team won 3-2 and the 1st boys’ team placed second.

At the prep and college soccer matches against Creston, the 1st boys, 1st girls, U16 boys, the U13A girls and boys, U13B girls and boys, U11A girls and boys, U11B girls and boys all won.

The U11C girls and boys, as well as the U13C boys each lost by one goal. A fantastic set of results!

Asher House took top honours at the junior primary interhouse athletics last Tuesday. Judah House won the ‘Spirit’ trophy.
