Jai Hind pupils get water wise

Life-saving lessons: Rebecca Thorncroft and Ruahn Beattie from NSRI (left and right) enjoyed instructing Jai Hind pupils (from left) Sboniso Lubanyana, Veer Jamond, Alyssa Naidoo and Londeka Sikhunyana all about water safety.

REPRESENTATIVES from National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) addressed Jai Hind Primary on water safety at a special assembly.

At an interactive session, pupils were made aware of simple water safety rules that could save lives, especially living along the coast with many dams and rivers, which prompted the NSRI to initiate the school safety programme entitled ‘Water-Wise’.

A parents meeting was held last Tuesday to afford parents the opportunity to engage with subject teachers regarding pupils’ progress.

The meeting was well attended by parents who gained valuable insight.

Athletic training is currently under way and the school’s annual interhouse sports will take place on May 19.
