BANNERS REST

ENTRY forms for the KBA men’s and women’s pairs are now on the notice board, with a closing date for entries of May 8.

The SuperSpar Port Edward mixed trips will be played today (20th), while the Golden Moon Spur and Peter Bennett mixed pairs has been moved from Wednesday, April 26 to Saturday, April 29.

A number of first round club competitions need to be played by April 30, as the Scratch Rule will apply to games not completed.

HIBBERDENE

THE mixed trips played last Friday and sponsored by Hibberdene Pharmacy, were won by Albert and Alida Munnik with Adam Grobler.

Runners-up were Paul Grutter, Estelle Quinn and Nora Swart.

Session prize was won by Jan Oosthuizen, Bubbles Bezuidenhout and Chris Shone.

Suzuki South Coast mixed trips this Friday (21st).

MARGATE BC

MUGG & Bean’s women’s two-bowls trips, scheduled to be played this Friday (21st), has been cancelled.

The Mugg & Bean open 2-4-2 pairs will take place on Friday 28th at 2pm. Contact Annette Payne to enter.

Winners of the Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach men’s 2-4-2 were Ernie Southward and Derek McKechnie.

Runners-up were Alan Gibson and Cedric Glanfield. Session to Ron Canning and Rennie Geyer.

The annual Margate Week bowls tournament will be held from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 5. Entry forms for this men’s fours and women’s fours event can be obtained from the club.

Duties: Office – Annette Payne; tea – Pam Cole-Cook and Vi Pels.

Social bowls takes place every Sunday, from 9am. All welcome.

MARGATE CC

THE Monday afternoon Shelly Beach SuperSpar open trips was won by Brian Douthwaite, Dennis Rehbock and Peta Egerton.

Runners-up were Clive Edmundson, Ralph Burls and Cindy Cano.

Session prize went to Billy Eccles, with Martiens and Jo Olivier.

The 50/50 draw was won by Sandy Ferguson.

This week the club hosts the Margate Challenge, golf, bowls and bridge.

MUNSTER

MARINERS Restaurant open trips winners were Martiens Zietsman, Dice Graaff and Arthur Ronaldson.

Runners-up were Don Saunders, Helen Cock and Gail Botes.

Second session went to Tommie and Louise Dry with Colin Holtzhausen. Board to Rory Lawson.

NEXT outing will be at the Village this Sunday, April 23 at 8.30am for 9am.

There will be a bring and braai after the annual general meeting. All Nomads urged to attend.

PORT EDWARD

SOUTH Coast Plumbers mixed trips winners were Mike Gower, Myra Doubell and Derek Wicks.

Runners-up were Rod Phelps, Peter Bennett and Mary Phelps. Session went to Joe Ashworth, with Jimmy and Ann McAllister. Board to Ann McAllister.

A reminder that Scroungers three-bowl singles will take place this Sunday, April 23.

Players please report by 1pm as round one starts at 1.30pm. Remember Friday to ‘Roll a Bowl’ with a change, before the sundowner at 4pm.

SOUTHPORT

THE South Coast Herald mixed 2-4-2 played last Thursday was won by Tammy Gibbons and Trevor Main from George Choromanski and Lyn Coetzee.

Second session prize went to Bob Moroney and Lyn Harris.

Next competition will be the Suzuki men’s trips to be played today (20th).

Members are now looking forward to the ‘cricket match’ against Tweni this Sunday afternoon.

Visitors can expect a well-watered pitch to suit the home team’s bowling attack.

THE BELL

RENZO van Niekerk, Hew Hodgson and Phil Viljoen won the Jaxx/Venture Inn open trips last week.

Runners-up were Brian Rawlins, John Nadauld and Kevin Lancaster.

Winter times start on May 1 with tabs in by 1.15pm for play at 1.30pm.

TWENI

ELFREDA Goosen and Tony Aveyard won the Harbour View SuperSpar mixed pairs from runners-up Geoff and Tina Barbour.

George Choromanski and Lyn Coetzer took the session prize.

Next event is the Wimpy women’s pairs today (20th), followed by the club’s Wimpy mixed fours on Tuesday, April 25.

Members and visitors are reminded of the quiz night on Wednesday, April 26 at 6pm.

VILLAGE

WINNERS of the Hibiscus Insurance Brokers mixed trips were Phillip Audibert, Sharon Smith and Gerald Crerar on a drawn card from Brian Douthwaite, Olwen Gibbs and Chrissie Chancellor.

Sessions went to Betty Bolton, Derrick Shell and Ken Habben and to Mike Prinsloo, Ralph Burls and Dina van der Walt. Dina also won the 50/50.

The next competition is the Hopdens Kwikspar mixed 2-4-2 on April 25.

The in-house Hyundai drawn mixed trips will be this Saturday (22nd). Tabs in by 1.15pm.
