Restaurant of the Week: Highland Fryer

Waitress, Ntoko Hadebe (left) from Highland Fryer serves English-style fish and chips to Lorraine Lawlor, while her husband Billy and his sister, Lydia Lawlor get ready to tuck in.

POPULAR with young and old, the Highland Fryer in Shelly Beach is a place to ‘eat, drink and be merry’ while enjoying tasty dishes served by friendly staff.

The portions are generous and reasonably priced, prepared with pride, using only the freshest ingredients.

Try the 200g rump steak, which is flame grilled, perfectly basted and served with egg and crispy homemade potato chips, or the popular classic British-style fish and chips.

Other dishes include eisbein, pure beef burgers, aromatic curries, mouth-watering spare ribs and home-made pies, baked in ceramic dishes.

Seafood lovers can choose from fish, prawns, calamari, mussels and seafood platters.

Take advantage of the fantastic daily specials, while the Sunday lunch, which is highly recommended, is a real treat.

Open seven days a week. Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 9pm, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.
