Creston pupils learn more about animal welfare

Imaginative: Creston gr R pupils Jessica Stott (left) and Roxy Senekal show off their colourful and creative 'Under the sea' projects.

CRESTON’S College Phase Eagle Crest Community Service team visited the Rainbow Warriors Animal Shelter in Hibberdene. Pupils cleaned kennels, exercised dogs, handed out treats and donated lots of pet food.

They learned a lot about animal welfare and the importance of sterilisation.

Gr R pupils delivered beautiful work for their theme ‘Under the Sea’. Lloyd Bristow presented an energetic dog jumping and agility show and pupils loved watching the SA champion instructor and his dogs perform.

Kira Attfield and Bongisisa Dikho took part in the 25th Billabong Grommet Games. Kira made it to the quarter-finals, taking seventh place for beach flags and ninth overall in her age group.

Olivia Hulley will attend the Ugu U12 netball trials after qualifying at the second round recently. Owen Barclay and Greg Botha competed at the interprovincial fishing competition last weekend.
