WOMEN from different Christian communities on the South Coast recently gathered at the Mbizane Mission Church for the recent Women’s World Day of Prayer service.

Celebrating the 87th year of the day of prayer in South Africa, the service followed the theme, “Am I being unfair to you?” inspired by the women of the Philippines.

Jenny Butler and Doris Theobald.

Filipino women shared their stories and the challenges they face on a daily basis.

According to service leaders, God gave the Philippines many resources, both human and material and so the service was opened with a unique dance in which Filipino women offered their rich resources and praise in a song entitled ‘Bind us together’.

Jean Humprey, Pam Avern-Taplin and Joey Anderson.

Testimonies of Filipino women were read out to ignite solidarity and provide a source of strength through prayer for peace and justice.

Sage advice was given to all women about uniting and praying together to yield fruitful results.

Lettie Bands and Petra van Wyk.

The theme also closely examined Jesus’ goodwill, highlighting that it is never too late to accept God and to remind the women that Christians need to give themselves to God and do God’s work.
