IZINGOLWENI police are investigating after a man was robbed at gunpoint at Mbeni ward last Thursday.

It is believed that the 29-year-old businessman was closing up at about 8pm when he was confronted at the door by two armed men.

“The men were armed with handguns and demanded money,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka. The businessman was forced back into the shop and was made to open the safe.

The gunmen fled, taking cash and cigarettes.

No arrests have been made.
