MORE than 50 passengers from disadvantaged backgrounds took to the skies free of charge aboard a Bombardier Dash-8 Q300, courtesy of CemAir and Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, last Thursday.

The 36-seater plane took to the air twice, giving those who had never before flown the experience of a lifetime.

The four-abreast cabin has full-sized overhead stowage for hand baggage and a full service cabin with a flight attendant and galley.

The visibly excited passengers enjoyed a 15-minute sortie, flying from from Margate Airport to the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort, over the beautiful scenery of Umtamvuna  to Port Shepstone Country Club and back to Margate.
